Samsung Hard Drive Benchmarks

OK, I generated some benchmark data for you. I hope this comes out OK in the forum thread, so I’ll try my best.

To start, I’ll cover the hardware used for the test.

Test System:

CPU: AMD X2 4600+ (Windsor)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 Motherboard (nForce 570 SLI)
Memory: 2x 1GB Corsair XMS DDR2 800 (4-4-4-12)
Memory: 2x 2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 (4-4-4-12)
OS: Server 2003 x64 R2 (with all updates and a clean install with no other software)
Boot Storage: 1x Hitachi 250GB SATA Hard Drive
Test Storage: 1x Samsung 1TB 7200 RPM (Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ)
Test Storage: 1x Samsung 1.5TB 5400 RPM (EcoGreen F2 HD154UI)

Benchmark software:

ATTO benchmark tool (v2.46)
HD Tach (v3.0)
HD Tune (v4.0.1)
